Cutaneous melanoma is 1% of skin cancers. It develops in most cases on healthy skin but can occur in 20% on a mole (nevus). Melanoma is related to excessive sun exposure.

Melanoma is an aggressive cancer gives metastases at an advanced stage.

Diagnosis is based on biopsy and histological examination. Once it realized a staging (CT, ultrasound) is needed to decide a validated treatment multidisciplinary meeting (dermatologists, surgeons, radiotherapists).

The main treatment for melanoma is surgical (exeresis).
